Maryam Bandukda

Research Fellow

Maryam is researching how storytelling can help drive community collaboration towards unlocking acces to assistive technology. In this work Maryam will be working with local disabled people and community stakeholders to develop storytelling narratives and tools. 

Maryam's background is in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science. Prior to joining GDI Hub and UCL, Maryam has worked as a Business Analyst and Project Manager for over 10 years in the United Kingdom and Pakistan. Maryam joined GDI Hub and to complete a PhD on agency and participation of blind and partially sighted people in open space leisure activities and the impact of orientation and mobility training on self-efficacy and participation in leisure activities. Her research in AT2030 extends her growing interst in the use of stroytelling for agency.
